Ojo Creative Preserve is located in the riparian valley of the Rio Ojo Caliente. The strip of land stretches from the Acequia del Gavilan to the Rio Ojo Caliente with many opportunities to encourage healthy ecosystem stewardship. There is a wetlands and a spring located within the boundaries of the site. Some rehabilitation projects for thriving and flourishing include removal of the invasive Russian Olive and Salt Cedar. In the spirit of permaculture ethos we are utilizing the debris from this effort for other projects such as hügelkultur, deadrow fencing, fuel for pit fires, garden infrastructure, and raw material for design/art experimentation.
